A year and a half ago a dear friend of mine Dawn over at Enthusiastically Dawn sent me an Arc Planner. I did not know any thing about the planner lifestyle and how such a simple tool would change my life. I was the pen and paper list girl. I would make my list each day of to do's. That was it. Uneventful and boring. But wouldn't you know it I would sometimes lose the list! Then I was up the creek without a paddle because I would forget something. If I didn't write it down when the thought hit me I would lose it a lot of times too. Well when my friend sent me her customized Arc it was amazing. It was fun. It gave me a fun creative way to get organize and let's face it, it was much harder to misplace a planner book. I used that planner for a year. It was amazing and I will never forget her sweet kindness that really helped me and gave me joy. I find it fun to plan and I even get creative with markers and stickers. It motivates me to be more organized!
So to pay it forward I want to give away a planner. Now this is a brand new Happy Planner but it is the 2016-2017 version. There is only 6 months left of this but if you have not tried a planner yet or you where interested in the Happy Planner system... this would be a great sample to try!
I love the bright encouraging messages all in this series of planner. I like the durable covers. If you accidentally spill a drop of coffee your planner is ok... it will wipe right off.
There is a reason it is called Happy Planner I guess because every single one of them I have ever seen makes me smile. I love the welcome page with the big ol' hello. And what lady doesn't like bright, cheery or polka dots. I wanted to show you that each month has a beautiful divider with a message or pretty print but I would love for it all to be a surprise to the winner. It has a month over view then also the daily, weekly pages in this planner. Even the daily is broken down in three sections you can label ever how you wish. I use mine for morning, afternoon, even goals. It has a goals and important dates section for each month over view. I had loved my Arc planner my friend had given me so much, when it was time to finally move into another planner I gravitated towards the Happy Planner because of the disks that are similar to Arc and it was what I was used to. I love how she customized hers. I liked that I could do the same with Happy Planner if I wanted too. I went with The Happy Planner because they offer so many useful and cute things I could do with it. And I loved using Micheals coupons to get 40 percent off things. You can customize the happy planner easy. They offer sheets at Micheals to add if you wish to add more or different types. They offer cute covers, cases, folders to put inside. But You can have fun with cute washi tape or stickers. If you want to use your own paper you can buy the punch to always make your own and use your planner forever if you wish. You can use it as a planner or a planner/ scrapish type memory book. This planner is great as stand alone as well. All you really need is right there above in the picture keep it as simple or creative as you wish.
So if your interested in trying this system and getting organized please feel free to enter! If you know someone who would benefit from this let them know. I will choose a winner at the end of this month which I hope will be a blessing to them. Feel free to come back as much as you want each day to enter. Each entry will count as 5 points. The more you have the better your chance of winning.
It will come with a couple of small surprises too. Giveaways are so much fun.
PLEASE enter via the raffle copter widget here. It will randomly choose the winner at the end of the month!
Recently Faithbox sent me a monthly Faithbox to try out and give you my thoughts on the company. I love monthly subscription services period so I thought this would be great! Monthly boxes are just so fun to get goodies that are themed out aren't they?! Well what better way to get one than supporting a company that gives back to helping ethical small businesses across the globe and helping to feed hungry children at the same time. You just can't go wrong. When I interviewed Faithbox here is what they had to say below.
Mission Statement : We, at Faithbox, are a Christian company that has a heart for furthering the kingdom of God and wants to bring joy by introducing great products from companies that give back and do good. With each box or devotional purchased, three meals are provided to hungry kids all over the world through our partnership with Rice Bowls.
I couldn't believe what all came in my box! The book alone was worth the price and the fact they are helping to feed kids to boot & you get all these extras just blew me away.
What is even more amazing is the message of encouragement they send you each month. This months topic was loneliness. It was right on time for me. I was so uplifted & encouraged by the resources provided. Not only that, they also encouraged me to reach out to others whom God may place on my heart that might be lonely too. The overview was awesome because it explains in detail the items mission for the month!
The Stitch was very interesting. You take the orange string and sew it into your garment to show awareness of child molestation. It is to represent the vast majority of kids under age 18 whom have been sexually abused but hide and never tell anyone. It is to encourage kids to speak up!
Organic Raw Cacao for Espresso shots! Woot!
Lysa Terkeurst's book Uninvited. Living loved when you feel less than, left out, and lonely. And the faithbox uninvited everyday faith devotional. O yeah!
These are lovely quality note cards to encourage others. I am so excited they provided these to use these for outreach.
In doing good, let us not fail. Gal 6:9

I highly recommend FaithBox. These would even make fabulous gifts that just keep on giving all the way around.
How to find peace in a world of crazy. That line got to me. I wanted to see what Alli had to say. Alli's story really was interesting and gave me such encouragement on so many levels BUT for most of the book it did not seem to show how to find peace in a world of busy until chapter 7. It was mostly about her journey of success & seeking God along the way which is very inspiring no doubt. But as said chapter 7 is the shift and the true meat of the book. Chapter 7 is all about time and how to spend it. It lead perfectly into chapter 8 where Alli shares the decision making frame work. Chapters 9 & 10 are just as important in breaking busy. She offers great incite in 7- 10 to truly help anyone. I love what she said on page 197. "keeping us busy trying to prove our worth is the easiest way to keep us from the life God created us to live." She was right when sharing verse John 10:10 the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Satan wants us to become so busy doing all but what God really wants us to do. Doing to much or being out of balance is not God's way for us for peace nor for proper productivity. I truly think Breaking Busy will help someone stuck on that hamster wheel of life to have a radical change of proper balance in this busy world.
And wow she offers free digital download help & even printables at her site you can find here!
I just recently read Crystal Paine's newest book Money Making Mom. Personally any book I read that talks about success stories, how to get there and what it took inspires me. In this book Crystal clearly shares the do's & don't in a peep talk & let's get real manner that will stick with you in days to come. If you are looking to start a business of your own and be your own boss this is the eye opener & realistic motivator you need.
I read this book not from the perspective of wanting an at home business because I actually already have two. But I did read it with an open mind to see if she would share tips that I would also share with someone who wants to start a business and make money with little to no start up. Or if she shared anything new to me. I am always open to learn. Crystal spoke my heart as a mom business women. No matter your lack of training or skills you may think you do not have..you can learn skills. You can create money with not even a degree but with plain & simple hard work according to Crystal. It is so true because I too am doing it in my business ventures. Her success inspires me to keep going to make it where she is. This book truly spoke my heart in the simple truths she shared. I do not want to give them all away here you will have to read the book for yourself if you are ready to make a change and be your own boss! If you have tried businesses & failed your in luck. You can take that to build your path to success so do not give up yet. Crystal shares her brutal failures but shares how the lessons she learned actually got her to her successful business now at MoneyMakingMom.com. I love the way she values her mistakes and sees how they where important to the building ones path to success.
I couldn't put this book down. It truly went every where with me until I read it all. I so enjoyed it. It re-motivated me in my businesses I already have going and opened my mind to even more ideas for more business ventures. It inspired me to keep going. I have to quote my favorite line she said on page 64 " Do what you can, when you can, where you are". That is also how I view it all. Take it one step at a time. Do your thing and do what you can as you can, and build from there in your business. It does not and will not be perfect from the get go. It is truly important to make good goals but do not set unrealistic ones & get discouraged. So if you are wanting a business or in the middle of one, this book is a good investment of time and may give you some new perspectives.

I love this new devotional called Devotions from the Garden. It truly does help find peace and rest in a hurried life. At the moment I live in an apartment with no real gardens. I miss when I was recently a home owner a year & half ago. I had a wonderful lush green back yard with trees and a little garden. I even had a separate Colonial style garden as well. I had lots of colorful flowers. I would sit in my gardens and think & pray. It was always my peaceful place and would refresh me like no other place. I felt closer to God when in nature. When I was given the opportunity to review this book it was every thing I had hoped. It combined scripture in with real life issues with help to show the way and slow us down. It also used a lot of parables & painted pictures of how gardens, growing, & the gardening process parallels real life. As I dig into this devotional daily, I get the same feeling again as I used to in my own little gardens spending time with God. It helps bring me back to that place of peace & refreshes. The photos in this devotional are stellar and some of the most amazing out door photos I have ever seen and they shine such glory on Gods vibrant creations. I highly recommend this book! I also award this devotional my Homemaker-Mom Seal of Approval!

I just read Motivate Your Child. It is a Christian parents guide to to raising kids to do what they need to without being told. I have older kids. Age 20 & 15. I so wish this book was out when they where young. But this book is good for all ages age 1-19! Most parents are using approaches that are asking the wrong questions of life & they do not even realize it. Kids need internal motivation not external. I had read a lot of parenting books but this one seems to get to the root of issues realistically. It shines a new & better perspective on heart issues of any aged child & how to address them for overall better outcome of their actions. It states " God designed the conscience to help guide the heart in the right direction. But the conscience is incomplete without the spiritual leadership of the holy spirit inside.Faith development in children is strategic for building moral thinking and for recognizing that the internal promptings they experience fit into a bigger picture of God's work in the world and in people's hearts." It shows different scenarios all throughout the ages & stages of a child and how to deal with it at the root in a Biblical longer lasting approach. I It truly helps parents to teach Philippians 2;3-4 with success. No parent is perfect but our Abba father is and with the Godly wisdom shared in this book it will equip. I am so happy to have this book to review as my girl is 15 and coming into new issues & dealing with some old that the timing of this book is amazing and is already working in her life. I want to guide her on the right path and not the path of self. I highly recommend this book to any parent of any child.
Why is it some of the most depressed people in the world are Christians? David Murray takes a very in depth look at some of the reasons why this is so. Christians should be the happiest people in the world not the saddest! David shows us how that is possible in a world full of doom , gloom & guilt. I will share with you highlights of the book in my own commentary. I will share chapter by chapter.
1. Happy Facts
Facts > Feelings = Positive
An example David uses of this equation is imagine your sitting in a traffic jam late for a meeting. A car has broken down ahead causing the jam possibly. Your really upset. The fact is your stuck in a traffic jam but there is nothing you can change about that fact. But what you can change is how your looking at it. You could use that time to fellowship with God. You could pray. You could use that time to go over with God what you need to remember for your meeting. It may be the extra time you needed to relax! Think positive instead of negative when the facts are what they are. You can't change them but you can change your perspective. Thank the Lord it may of saved you from an unforeseen wreck you could of been in down the road.
2. Happy Media
Good News > Bad News = Positive
This chapter 2 dove deep into all the negative media we have all around us and why people are drawn to it. People tend to focus more on the negative than the positive. It is good to know what is going on in the world but a great way to ward off feeling so down is to focus on all the good going on around us. Do not spend to much time listening to negative news. Seek out the good news! Remember all the good things Jesus has done for us too! When focusing on GOOD thoughts it is hard to get down. It will help to reduce stress too.
Done > Do = Positive
Guilt. That is a big ugly word. Guilt ways us down even a lot of Christians. Have you ever did a good deed out of guilt for God? I know I have A LOT in the past. Why because even thought I knew he saved me by his blood I do not at times feel good enough to deserve his gift of grace. So a lot of us get caught up in doing for God out of guilt instead of out of pure love for him and gratitude. Somewhere in the back of our minds we do stuff to try and earn his love. But we forget it was all finished on the cross. It is done. There is NOTHING we can do to earn his love. There is nothing we can do further to earn a way into heaven other than believe in Jesus Christ's redeeming blood for ourselves and receive it! We need do nothing more. It is done. We should simply DO for God out of love never out of guilt to earn a way into his heart. It is finished. It is all DONE all the work that needs to be done! His grace is GRACE. David points out at the end of each day say out loud it is done. There is nothing more I can do no matter what you did that day because we all fall sort!
Christ > Christians+ Positive
David dives deep into the subject of hypocrisy in this chapter. We all fall short. Why is it we tend to always look at the failures first of others rather than focus more on their successes and praise the Lord for it? If you see a broken Christian there is still remnants somewhere in them of Christs reconstructing work if Jesus lives in them. Find the good in people. We are to build each other up not tear each other down. Remember it is DONE Christ did it all. Focus more on Christ than others falling short!
5. Happy Future
Future > Past = Positive
I will talk about the word guilt again. This chapter was so good for me. It examines the heart. Something that brings a lot of people down is the past. Yes we have all made mistakes in the past. We should remember the lessons we learned from them but we are not to dwell in the past. We are to look to the future. We should remember the good things of the past more if we think of the past at all. We should remember all the good things God has done for you. Remember all the good things he did in the Bible the amazing miracles & signs too! Think on good things but think more future minded. We all made in his image. We are all a work in progress heading to better not broken! Think of a great future & a great now do not hang out in a depressing past that will weight your heart down if you have a broken past. Remember it is DONE. What you will be in far more important that what you where!
6. Happy World
Everywhere Grace > Everywhere Sin = Positive
Ok we all know sin is all around us. We are sinners to and of course make mistakes. But this world could be a lot worst than it is. Gods common grace is everywhere! There is bad happening, yes. But God's goodness is happening MORE we just mostly do not look for it. Even unsaved people do good at times and show some kindness at some point. ALL good comes from God. All people are made in HIS image. There is some common grace ( which is different from his salvation grace) that exists in the world all around us. See Satan is the author of pain & TOTAL misery. In Satan's kingdom below there is no rest, no fun, no relaxing, no laughter, no beauty,no kindness & the list goes on. So when your out and about in the world look for even the smallest of good things! You will begin to see all the good big & small in all people.
7. Happy Praise
Praise > Criticism = Positive
Studies have shown ( the book will go more in depth on this) that people get more successful changes from people with praise more then with criticism. The math should weigh more praise from someone than pointing out their weakness. Let the Holy Spirit do his job of changing hearts meanwhile build people up including yourself and stop tearing down!
8. Happy Giving
Giving > Getting = Positive
I loved this chapter as it really dives deep into the subject of giving. It is so true that is truly more blessed to give than to receive! Studies have even been done on people's happiness on who is happier those giving in the test or getting. The ones giving came out the long term happiest! Go figure :-)
Work > Play = Positive
Did you know God loves work? He worked & works daily! He created which takes work. There should be a work life balance. A time for all of us to work & a time for rest. Play time does not come before work. If you have a proper work life balance it will be a positive experience. Most of us are not in a minister or missionary position. Yet we are all in a holy calling. Your work is your calling. If your a teacher be the best teacher unto the Lord. If your a stay at home mom be the best you can be unto the Lord. No matter your job & we all have one of some sorts even if it is to wash dishes , Wash dishes for the Lord! Take pleasure in your work. But if you say all I am is a dish washer. Remember most of Jesus life he was a carpenter. He Jesus I am sure gave God pleasure in his work.
10. Happy Differences
Diversity > Uniformity = Positive
We will experience a sample of God's kingdom in the future if you lay down any prejudices now. Prejudice can be in many forms. Classes, jobs, color, regions, religions you name it. Open your heart to not be prejudice on any level to experience & learn more joy in God's kingdom here on earth in his body NOW!
In conclusion I could not go anywhere without bringing this book with me while I was reading it. At first I thought I would be bored with it but o how I was wrong. This book captivated me, boosted me to the next level in my walk with Abba God that I was not expecting. It goes deep into a lot of issues we may not even realize or push aside. It shines such a beautiful light into the dark & equips us Biblically to walk in the joy we should have as Christians who should be the happiest people on earth!
Are you frazzled by your family's hectic schedule and chaotic household? You feel like you can never get ahead? Then try Debbie Lillard's "A Mom's Guide to Home Organization." This book walks you through simple processes and tips for organizing your time, your stuff and your space. The second half of the book addresses how to teach your children the life skill of being organized.
Written by a busy mom for busy moms. I highly recommend this book!
I love the tips in this book. Some of my favorites is she walks you through exactly how to effectively plan. When you plan effectively it will indeed help bring balance. That is where a lot of us moms who feel like a hamster running on the wheel and never going anywhere can relate. We are moving yet not being effective. Not accomplishing all we desire at the end of our day. She simply has so many valuable tips to help in all areas of running your household. My favorite tip is to have a planner! I recently was blessed with an Arc planner and I am using it and it is changing my life! If you need a little help in organizing your home life to a better balance check out her book.
I was so happy to review the book Messy Beautiful Love by Darlene Schacht. This book is all about hope and redemption for real life marriages. In this book Darlene is extremely transparent about the grace that was shown in her marriage at a difficult cross roads. It was then that I realized how much I would truly relate to the sharing in this book, it hit close to home. I love the real life sharing from Darlene's heart. Marriage is truly not easy. I will say some marriages may be much harder than others. Mine has not been so easy in years past for many reasons but after reading her story I do not feel alone. I found renewed hope and know we are now on the right track to discovering Gods best in this relationship. No person is perfect. Grace is the key to making a union last not butterflies in your tummy. Married life is simply not easy but when you surrender your relationship to god you let go of control over it and give it to God for his guidance. Will be blessed for it because of your obedience. Darlene beautifully gave advice as if from a best friend in real understandable tangible ways. This book will remain in my permanent collection that I will refer back to for encouragement again & again. When in the mist of a relationship & those some times messy times do come this book will enlighten you with Godly lady like wisdom to embrace the messy and coat it with grace, love & a servants heart to obey God. When you obey God's plan for relationships you will be blessed. Thank you Darlene.

Written by Jay Dee & Illustrated by Darren Geers " The Night Before The Night Before Christmas" is an unusual take on the hours before Christmas Eve. I must admit that at first when I was going to read the book I thought yes another Christmas book about Santa and Elves. Well there is nothing wrong with that and it's truly all cute & fun but you see I believe Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus. So I was a tiny bit sad at first realizing how many books are made for kids at Christmas time that does not point them to the truth. I must admit at first I was a little judgmental of this book. Well as I read the book first to myself before I read to other kids, I went on a journey of one little Elf named Elfie. I cried as the simple yet surprising story happy married Santas' workshop into the true meaning of the night and that's it's all about the Saviours birth! Jesus was brought to this lovely book to be the center star! It made me cry a tear for real as I sat and realized finally a childrens story book that is fun, cute yet points in a simple yet profound way back to the true meaning of Christmas. In a day where the world is becoming all about ME ME & at holidays it's become so consumer driven it is fantastic to see a book of this grand message! You & your kids will be impressed with the vibrant illustrations & a real on time message so needed today! This will be a book you will want to give as a gift and keep one to pass down for generations to come. This story is good for any time of the year.

Clout by Jenni Catron is a great self help book for any reader. Clout helps the reader to understand what personal clout is for a christian. Discovering your clout and how to clean it up and maintain it in a healthy thriving way is key to your own success. My favorite part of the book was in chapter 7 called " You Can't Let Go, Relinquishing Control". I love what she said on page 97 "a longing for power a desire for control is an indicator that we are not content with the influence we've been given". And page 98 " Fear of what you can't control will only keep you from doing what you can" oh this is so true. She talks about so many levels of issues that hinder our success such as: fear, comparison of others, jealousy, insecurity, pride, control, confidence, your passion & more encouraging us how to evaluate ourselves and bring issues into balance. Balance for me at this stage of life is key. My favorite bit of wisdom on page 105 was " I believe God does his greatest work through us when we are aware of our limitations and have to trust and lean into him for outcomes that are too big for us to tackle on our own!" In ending we all have clout and Jenni encourages us to use our clout properly to affect our lives and the world around us to shine for Christ!
I received a copy of Where Can I Flee By A.M. Heath to review. All opinions are my own.
Where Can I Flee By A.M. Heath
Where Can I Flee is a story set in civil war times. A time in our history where our nation was tore apart at the seams. Trust was something hard to come by in the north & south due to the battles that raged all around. But also for Claire Harper & her brother Frank, trust in a loving God was not easy or in site after growing up without their mother and a Father who was resentful towards God. In a time you need more strength to keep going to have some sort of peaceful life and you struggle to find it in the mist of the chaos , they wonder is there more to life than this? Join Clarie, Frank & other loveable characters in this adventurous, romantic quest of finding that peace & love that is full of hope & trust in the mist of surrounding chaos as the men go to war. You will see from the war side perspective and the home front. One character in particular Ralph leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat to find out more in the next book. This book is a wonderful mixture of issues of the heart with triumphant courage & prayer with bitter sweet victories in the end. A great historical tale that will leave you wanting to time travel back to such a time as that in spite of the war.
