I just love summer. But I also love being a Jennie-O Switch Circle Blogger. May's shipment brought a lot of joy to my family and others. I received these three turkey breast. Cajun Style, Oven Roasted, and Sun Dried Tomato. I did not want to keep all the Jennie-O goodness to myself so I gave two of them away to other people to try Jennie-O for themselves. As for myself I kept the Sun Dried Tomato turkey breast to create a brand new summer sandwich salad. A cool dish with a new twist. This was so much fun to think up and make.
I call it Summer Jubilee Turkey Salad. This was fun to create and simple. I wanted it to be bright, fresh, tasty and very easy to make. In the picture below is everything you need. Adjust the amounts of everything you use based on how much of course you'd like to make. I made a large bowl to share with others.
That's it. No other seasoning needed. It is low fat to the max. No mayo needed. This Summer Jubilee Turkey Salad is simple, easy, low fat and fantastic in taste. It is a great tribute to summer and it's colorful abundance. It is great for dieters yet perfect for anyone in love with flavor. Good clean eating at it's finest.
Have you ever stopped to think about ph balance for the human body. Most of us do not. I know for most of my life I didn't. But somewhere along the way on the information highway I learned of pH balance. My knowledge of this topic has grown a little more than I used to. But I still have so much to learn. I will share with you today tidbits of information I learned. Also I will share how to test your pH at home yourself.
If your body is to acidic it will reek havoc on your health. It can come in the form of: 1. cancer 2. fibromyalgia 3. diabetes 4. MS 5. heart diseases 6. brittle bones 7. arthritis if it continues over the long haul and possibly more. If your new to being to acidic, it can affect your immune system in so many ways. Just think about any uncomfortable health alignment and it can come from to much acid in your body.
But how do you know what level is right? If our level is off, how do we fix it?
First to see if your pH is on target simply purchase these Health Wiser pH Test Strips. You can use these for urine or saliva testing. You hold the strip in your specimen for only 15 seconds. Then you have to wait 15 more seconds for the test to fully develop.
Below I shared my test.
After the test is developed you compare it to the pH chart provided. A reading range of pH 6.5-7.5 is perfect. pH below 6.5 is acidic. If that happens then you should test at least three times in a day to get your average reading so you know what your dealing with. If it is over 7.5 then being too alkaline can also possibly be a problem. Balance is key. You should not eat two hours before the test.
Try to avoid acidic foods and drinks if your having an issue. Do some research to find out what foods your eating that are to acidic. Educate yourself.

I am not getting any younger. As I age I have noticed slight changes in my vision. I am not yet to 5o but getting closer everyday. This year it has opened my eyes to eye health. Why do I try to keep my body healthy but forget about my eyes? I think most people actually do this too.

I love Chinese egg rolls they are simply fantastic to me. But lately I have to watch my carbs. This month I set out to fix this problem and I did. As a Jennie-O Switch Circle blogger I was sent their all natural turkey sausage. I tried it out in making a egg roll in a bowl. It really took me away!
What you need:
Ok the great thing about using Jennie-O's all natural trukey sausage is that is it only has 5 grams of fat! It is zero carbs and has 13 grams of protein. The sodium count is much lower than other sausage brands that I have compared it too.
This dish is so simple and a serving is only around 6-9 carbs depending on if you add a few frozen sweet peas for color.
This is enough to serve a large family or save for other meals during the week. Or you can cut the tube in half and the bag in half and make a smaller amount.
This fresh dish is healthy and fast. You just can not beat the flavor and the time it takes to prepare. Amazing.
I love mineral and powder full coverage foundations. You can layer them as little or as much as you want. Your totally in control. But the price of our favorite powder or mineral foundations are just to much.
In order to preserve your makeup investment you can make it last longer. Or take some of your old compacts that have a little left and grow it to make that dollar go further.
What you will need:
I can not tell you how much corn starch or cacao powder to use in this because each persons blend will be different. I would start with what is left of your compact or all of it if it is full. Start maybe adding a full heaping table spoon of corn starch.
Actually add as much powder as you want to make the size batch you desire. Start adding the cacao as you think you will need last. Go light on it you can always slowly make it darker as needed and build it up to your skin shade or desired glow. Sample a little as you blend each shade until you get what you want. If your testing it as you go you will get it right! Do not worry. Just make sure your sampling a tiny bit thats been blended well.
As you see next the colors all stand out at first but you must grind and mix well until you see no other color run. Take a look at how dark the below picture is compared to the next one where the powders are all well blended. Do you see all the colors running? At first your mixture will be darker but do not fear it will lighten as you blend.
Now look at the finished product! It was my perfect shade. You should apply your makeup as you go along and test it until it is built up to your desired shade. You will be surprised even if fair skinned how much cocoa powder you will actually need. As you grind it together It will blend well and give you such a fantastic natural glow.
I have found that this blend helps with oily skin. It also does not dry out the face. I have combination skin so I was a great tester! This will be perfect for summer too. It is build-able on your face and as light or heavy as you wish. I have sensitive skin and this does not break me out. Just simply clean makeup.
I suggest storing it in a small glass bowl to keep it clean from plastics inevitable toxins.
This will transform that expensive compact to a much high volume longer use. Your in control and it feels great to make your own makeup and save so much money.

Have you ever been to Olive Garden and had their famous Zuppa Toscana soup? It is truly amazing. I think it is fabulous! Well I tired my hand at making this copy cat version my self but making it lower in fat without giving up the taste by using Jennie-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey. This was so fast and fun to make. Every one who sampled my Olive Garden copy cat soup loved it.

Start the new year off right by eating healthier than you ever have. Make 2017 your best year yet. If you love fatty foods and want to eat better but not give up the taste then this low fat stroganoff recipie I developed will be great for just that.
Your supplies list:
1. Brown your Jennie-o extra lean ground turkey meat. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder & worcestershire sauce during the browning.
2. Mix in another pot one can of low sodium low fat cream of mushroom, 8 oz of low fat sour cream, 1 1/2 cups- 2 cups of low fat milk ( or almond milk) , & 2 table spoons of worcestershire. Mix on low heat until creamy and mixed well.
3. Boil one bag of yolk free extra broad egg noodles. Do not over cook. Only cook just until tender. Drain and let sit for five minutes.
4. Add the meat, sauce & noodles together and mix well. Warm on very low heat for 8- 10 minutes while mixing often to blend the sauce well. Top with pepper & parsely. Enjoy

With the Holidays here there is so much to get done until the end of 2016. This year has been a busy year for many only to end the year staying busy with holiday preparations and celebrations. Self care has been something I am trying to work on in my life. It is important during all the busy to take time out for yourself, so why not take a relaxing bath? I will share with you some tips on how to make the most of your bath!
Tip 1: Start with a clean bathroom. Really who wants to sit in a dirty tub? Where there is dirty and clutter there is stress. Before you take time to relax really make sure your bathroom is clean. Plan ahead. It will make a big difference on the atmosphere and the mind as you relax. It is way more satisfying.
Tip 2: While the bath is running add some Epson salt. Add at least a cup or three. Mix well and allow it to dissolve. This will help you detox and relax those muscles.
Tip 3: Add at least 7 to 10 drops of your favorite essential oil. Essential oils usefulness are endless. They will also aid in detoxing, skin care, aromatherapy and relaxing.
Tip 4: Light candles. Light candles with or without scent. Aromatherapy is a real thing and can aid in healing if you choose scented. So is ambiance of the atmosphere. It will make it more relaxing and send the signal to your brain that you are worth this moment. Don't skip this step!
Tip 5: Grab a tub pillow, some music or a book to enjoy while you rest. What ever will allow you to rest mentally during your bath escape do it. For me I wouldn't enjoy sounds but the silent personally to mentally relax my mind but it may be different for you. If you do not have a tub pillow just fold a towel up to rest your head on as you lay back in the tub. It is way more comfortable that way.

As the new year is approaching I have been thinking deeply. Reflecting on this past years goals and what will be the new years goals. One that I had for 2016 was to get in shape. I am not where I want to be. I will say that this year I did more than the prior year towards that goal through out the year, so with that said I will keep moving forward at what ever pace I can but at least it is going forward! I was asked recently to discover CycleBar in Raleigh. I thought the timing could not of been more perfect. I was wanting to try something new towards my health and wellness goal. And you know I love adventure.
Let's face it if you are not as active as you should be, going to a gym can be a little intimidating. This year I had been exercising at home. So most of my anxiety left when I walked into the door and saw the fun party like atmosphere. Instead of a feeling of I know I should do this yet feel dread I felt pumped! Really!
The staff was top noch amazing, helpful, bright and cheery. Which helped to take away the first anxiety I had about my new adventure. Now don't get me wrong I was excited too, just you know what I mean!
Now the first stop is the sign in wall. You sign in on the tablets. Next you pick out your shoe size. On the bottom of these shoes are clamps that lock into the bikes pedal to keep your feet on track and secure. You do not have to use these but I enjoyed using them to be more secure.
Next stop was the refreshment bar. They make sure before you go into the bike room you are hooked up with plenty of H2O. I was asked by this gentleman if I like my water room temperature or chilled. The Cyclebar water bottle are yours to keep or you can give it back.
The bike room is awesome. It is so many things to so many people. It can be a battleground to beat the spirit of laziness. It can be a sanctuary to retreat from stress. The staff helps you get the bike adjusted to your level of comfort before the session begins.
Your individual bike is equipped with everything you will need. From monitor, towel, water, weight bar it is all here. I was on the front row. See the large fan in the front of the class? It was funny, the instructor after pumping us a bit to get us going said you had to work for the fan! Great way to look at it and boy I wanted the fan. The music was motivating to get you going no matter what mood you may be in as you enter the room. The instructors say they are part educator, DJ, drill sargent, and motivator. Was it true? Yes! They are every bit of all that. I know without the instructors motivation I couldn't of done it on my own.
After your ride they have the refreshment bar with complementary drinks and fruit to recharge you. I forgot the mention they have lockers for your things, a shower, towels & shower gel all FREE for you to use and be heading on to your day. It is fantastic they thought of everything to make your ride as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
This is the Cyclebar community wall, which I think is a great idea. It is the gathering of all to know.
Now one thing I did not mention yet, the instructors claim, is to come along side you and be a friend not just staff. This was my instructor Whitey. Her attitude is so contagious! She shared her story of why she is into the "ride". Her story mirrored mine in some ways. She found out she had heart problems and decided to take matters into her own hands to not allow the heart problem so to speak be a problem! Way to go Whitney and it is the exact motivation I need because I too have some minor heart issues. I want to be victorious over my health as Whitney has done. She also wanted to wake up everyday and be happy at what she does and she has accomplished that hands down. She loves sharing empowerment with others to lift you up and tell you, you can do this! I am excited to hear more of the stories of others encouragement and be a part of becoming a more empowered, healthier me on this journey.

Productivity. Time management. Balance. Have you ever struggled with these things? Peace in a busy life? I know I have. The struggle is real. I want to share with you a journey I am on right now and for those struggling as well I invite you to join me.
I at times for various reasons need to tweek my evenings and mornings. How I spend my evening can in fact affect the start of my next day. How I start my mornings can indeed affect the rest of my day. I have a lot going on these days to do and keep up with. I highly admire Crystal at MoneySavingMom and when I saw she has a course to help fine tune my evening I was super excited to hear what she had to say.
I am first doing the 14 day Make Over Your Evenings course because before you have a morning you must have a night right! So far I am on day 5 and simply loving it so far. No matter where you are as a stay at home mom or a working woman her tips are valuable. It will help you completely tweek & repair an off balance evening and morning. We are a busy family let me tell you! I have a teen that I have to mom taxi every day to something. I have business appointments, doctor appointments you name it. We volunteer. I have a son living at home in college, and working his first internship. The list is never ending of all we have to do in week. We simply do not have a lot of time in the morning to cook a nutritious breakfast. But breakfast is so very important to fuel our day we simply can not ignore it. It is in fact the most important meal of the day after going all night with no food. Those days we did ignore breakfast, we paid the price later in the day. Sometimes we even would just grab donuts! I know, I know that's not good at all. So I ended up loving the idea of easy fast smoothies as the problem solver for us! I want to share with you one of my fast go to smoothies I like to do for hurried mornings. I love shopping at my Raleigh N.C. Kroger for my go to items.
