Drawers are the dirty little secret in almost every home. Do you have one or a few crammed full of junk? Junk is defined as old or discarded articles that are considered useless or of little value. Isn't it hard to open the drawer sometimes and stare at a sea of junk only to waste time hunting for the object you desire? Along the way during your digging session you discover items you forgot you had and looked for before only to come up empty handed. We create these junk drawers because we are in a hurry, life is easier for the moment to just throw it in there. Later we find out it catches up to us. One day you can no longer easily close the drawer its so full. Or it may cost you money because you ran out to buy something you needed that happen to be burried unknowingly in the drawer already. I have done this countless times only to find later I already had it. Truly a waste!
This can all be avoided by some time invested now to clean and organize it right. But to truly solve this problem long term you must have a change of habit & heart. Mentally vow to yourself not to throw things out of ease into the drawer. Take the time to put things back where they go. Also avoid buying junk or getting freebies you throw in there you will never use. Keep the things you use often and throw out the rest!
Here are my befores and after of my little junk drawer. It was shameful. I could barley close it! So I purged. Mothers day was recently so I used my pretty paper given to me gifts were wrapped in to line the drawer! The final product is much better! I am so happy with my clean drawer. Its pretty to look at when I open it too!
Below are some examples I found of things around your home you can use to organize your junk drawers! Enjoy!
