Do you need some Interior ideas or some home decorating ideas on a budget? I want to give you some of my personal tips that have been tried tested & true for me. If you do not know where to start your in the right place.
  1. Declutter. Simply getting rid of extra clutter can make a room look better in no time
  2. Think of who you are. What would you like around you to make you happy? To bring you peace?
  3. What colors are your favorite .Paint if you can. What ever you can. even to save time and paint  just paint one focal wall . Like for example the wall your fireplace is on.
  4. Find what items can pull double duty with , items you already have and repaint it or repurpose it. Make it into a new thing! Trash to Treasure is great!
  5. Take throw pillows and make new covers instead of buying new pillows. This is so much cheaper. Even if you do not know how to sew you can make no sew pillow covers simply by googling how to do it you will have it done in minutes.
  6. Make your own art if you are not artistic frame pretty scrapping paper that will match your theme! Repaint in just five minutes your picture frames before placing your art with some cheap spray paint
  7. Add fresh flowers if not flowers you can make an arrangement with sticks from the yard even. It works and  it so pretty.. you could even spray paint the sticks first! Sticks are free.
  8. Got some books? Stack some in order of largest to smallest in a corner. You can recover them for free with paper bags. It looks great. OR remove the original book covers before stacking. It gives a more higher end appeal and you didn't spend a dime
  9. Move furniture. Bring a better balance in your room if you need to even if it means getting rid of some furniture to create a peaceful flow
  10. If you want new furniture on a budget visit thrift stores, yard sales or visit Craigs list for your area. OR simply buy a fresh new furniture cover for what you already have
  11. Spot clean your original furniture if you love it and do not want to buy a cover
  12. Rent a carpet cleaner or borrow one if you want to perk up & clean your carpet . Spot clean it before you deep clean it. This can give a new look to old carpet.
  13. Want more visual interior ideas for free? Go to your local library & get a book or two for a few weeks on decorating for free to flip through. Or visit Pinterest online to get simple ideas! Pinterest is my favorite to get inspired.
  14. Network. Have a friend that wants to trade a decor item with you? It is free & might be fun to swap items!
  15.  Update cabinets in just minutes by replacing the handles & give the cabinet surface a fresh wash down. All you need is a screw driver. You can find new handles for cheap at a home improvement resaler.
  16. On tables have items in groups of 3 only. More than that is to much & distracting.

These are some unique tips! I honestly hadn't thought to trade decor with a friend and I'm not sure why. That's a great idea!

Cheleste thank you so much. eeeekkk I am thrilled you liked the idea. I have at times thought of trying to start a home decor swap movement! Where ladies get together for a house party but you MUST bring decor you no longer want then trade with others! LOL Eat food etc etc.. What fun!
Yes I love to think outside of the box and I have traded items before in the past and it is fun & free! There are truly so many many ways to decorate cheap and even sometimes without spending one dime. Thanks for coming over today to visit!!
