I have always raised my kids up to know we should as Christians (& because we love Christ) , should bless others. We have been so greatly blessed in countless ways. They have learned to bless others together as a family team and also alone. We have together had family blessing days. First we have a family meeting me & the kids. We each give our two cents on who we want to team up together & bless that day. It can be an older person in need of some help or yard work. It can be an over stressed friend who needs a break and we offer some free baby sitting. It could we bake cookies for someone who needs some cheering up. It could be cleaning a home for someone who can't. YOU name it the possibilities of blessing day is awesome. We do not stop there. Have you ever seen Publishers Clearing House go knock on someones door with a lot of fan fair and balloons and the big prize!!!!!!! Well we make a large card with the blessing days name and say your the winner of blessing day! We get balloons and we make fan fair of it when we surprise them at the door. We do not tell them ahead of time we are going to to the what ever we set out to do for them that day. Its been an amazing journey and the response has always been amazing. People whom we choose for the blessing day end up not only blessed with a gift of service but also feel so special in the process. And guess what they are! It is a FUN way to lavishly pour love out on people and shine the love of Jesus to someone regardless of what they believe!
You can do this with ANY age children. Its so much fun!
What about you? Would you like to start involving the kids and having a blessing day and reach out to your community?!
