Did you know everyone is a leader? Someone, even when you do not realize, is watching you. We are all influencers in this life. So even if you are not a top CEO you are leading someone on some level. So ask yourself how will you lead?
I choose to lead with the principles found in the Bible. That is why I am fancinated with The Maxwell Leadership Bible. Here are the reasons why.
Why I like The Maxwell Leadership Bible:
This is a Bible that any aged leader could benifit from. Teachers, parents, bosses, CEO's, supervisors, teenagers, pastors, entrepreneurs, executive, investors, managers or as well as anyone in the work force. Awesome for leadership development, activties, educational, training, skills, for women, men, teens for help delvelop leadership qualities. I am extremely happy to have this Bible in my Bible study collection.
Awesome for leadership development, activties, educational, training, skills, for women, men, teens for help delvelop leadership qualities.
I was honored to get this Bible in exchange for my views.
If you want to learn how to tell a great story first learn from the best.
What is awesome is we all have a story to tell… each and every one of us. The greatest stories are yet to tell. It requires you to tell them. Yes, we have classics or biographies that will forever help to shape mankind but they will not always remain the best. As time goes on more people will share their stories and more wonders and shaping of humanity through a story will take place. Your story can make a difference in someone’s life. That is why I feel called to share my stories.
I am a budding writer. I love to tell a great story and paint a picture with words. But I wanted to learn how to tell a great story even more effectively by some of the great Editors at Guideposts Academy. I was given the chance to review the Academy in exchange for sharing my experience with it.
This is coming at a perfect time as I am starting to write my own book. It is amazing how God works things like this out perfectly and provides our every need to complete a task. When he sets a plan in motion it is amazing.
I am excited to report I just completed the course at the Academy. I wanted to wait and write this blog post after I was through. Here are my takeaways about this course.
First a little about Guideposts. Guideposts is a non for profit Christian inspirational publication group that was founded by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale in 1945. You may of heard of their publications? They are one of the top magazines of the modern era. Sharing positive faith building stories from people all over the world.
Tell us a little about your books.
I’m in the middle of an exciting season because I have some vastly different projects coming up. In a general sense, I’m a Christian Fiction author, so all of my books carry a message for the soul from the Christian perspective. But each novel carries its own theme and setting … as well as a touch of clean romance.
I debuted with a Civil War series. The Ancient Words Series follows the Harper family and their close friends from the viewpoint of a small southern town during the war. I chose a real regiment from my hometown as the center of the novel and was able to weave in a lot of historical facts. The first two books cover the four years of war and the various obstacles commonly experienced by those on the home front as well as the solider. The third book takes place in the year following the war and focuses on the difficult time of transition. We watch the Harpers struggle with real-life issues where they learn that God is their Savior, a place of refuge in the midst of their greatest fears, and a source of healing.
I’m in the process of starting two new series. The first one is called A Season Passed and is loosely inspired by my favorite Disney movies.
The first book, If Only It Were Yesterday, released last month and was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Liz Cooke longs to experience a simpler lifestyle like those that she reads about in historical novels. But when she dreams she time-travels, she may not find life in 1885 to be as ideal as she once had thought. You can read the first chapter for free HERE.
Yesterday’s Christmas releases on November 5th and was inspired by Beauty and the Beast. It’s a dual-time novel following Betty and Glenn during their first Christmas together in 1954, where they fell in love, and thirty years later when the couple is on the brink of divorce but stranded together. This is such a powerful story on bitterness, and I can’t wait to launch it out into the world.
And then there’s the Art of Love novels. These novels are set in the 1950s and feature a different type of artist. Dance With Me releases in April of 2019. It’s a stunning story about facades, the pain that causes them, and the healing we find only in Christ.
Anita, why are you writing historical fiction?
Simple: I LOVE history! I do have some contemporary stories in the works but it’s safe to say that I’m primarily a historical author. I’ve really enjoyed delving into various eras of history. Each new era is a new opportunity to research and I enjoy learning about life in the past.
When did you first realize you wanted to write books?
I think it’s been something that I’ve attempted to do since I was a young child. But writing as a serious venture, started for me nearly 10 years ago. I just felt the urge to write for fun and discovered a hidden talent. In time, the Lord made it clear that this was a talent with a purpose, and I began writing for the public. I was very uncertain of myself when I understood that the Lord was leading me to publication. I knew I didn’t have what it takes to write and write well, but the Lord reminded me that anything He leads us to do, He’ll also enable us to do it. And He’s never failed me yet!
What advice would you give others to accomplish their goals and dreams and balance daily life?
This can really be tough. I feel like I’m better at this in certain seasons of my life than at others. There’s a lot of helpful advice out there about how to manage your time, and prioritize your life, etc. But my biggest advice is this: Understand that you’re not the only one who struggles. I feel like so many people, women, in particular, put additional pressure on themselves to measure up to the standards they see around them, but they don’t realize these standards are fake. By nature, we tend to show off our good side. We only post our best pictures. We only talk about our accomplishments. We only chime in when we’ve done something spectacular. And because of that, we fail to see in others, or allow others to see from us, the struggles. For the things I get “right,” I get as many “wrong.” I may have one great day but four rough ones. And when we fixate on trying to reach perfection 7 days a week, we find ourselves disappointed and then we’re hard on ourselves.
Instead, give yourself some slack. Look for ways to cut time. Celebrate the small accomplishments. And understand that you’re not the only one who fails. You’re not alone. So keep trying.
What advice and motivation do you have to offer other entrepreneurs?
Understand that anything you’re attempting to do WILL take time. Lots of time. You’re going to have to be ready and willing to put in the hard labor. But ALWAYS celebrate the small accomplishments. If you wait until you get to the end to rejoice, you’ll dry up along the way. And keep healthy reminders. I keep inspirational quotes on my desk. (I cut scrap paper into index cards and wrote a variety of quotes on them and display them on a mini easel.)
Here are a few of my favorites:
“Do the hard stuff; it’s going to be great.” Christy Gragg
“The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” Mark Twain
“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”
“Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Years ago I lived through one of the most devastating Hurricanes in my region in over 130 years. Hurricane Floyd. It put half my city I lived in at the time under water. Disaster recovery services where indeed needed. Storm detectors made us aware of the looming danger of the storm to our work places and schools in our communities (that where wise enough to have them). Most work places have a storm readiness plan but while your away at work do you have a personal plan as well? This is now hurricane and tornado season you should really consider these reasons of why you need to have your own personal plan as well when your at work.
Hurricane season is from June 1- Nov-30
Something I have struggled with since I was young is allergies to cheap metals. When I was three my mom took me to get my ears pierced. My very first pair of ear rings was real solid gold with my birthstone in them. I loved them and they stayed with me my whole life, until now they are missing. Anyhow, as a child I loved those first ear rings but as a girl you know girls want lots of different ear rings to choose from. However as I aged I remember by age seven I started getting other earrings and they were the cheap affordable ones. I would itch and swell turning red in misery I would go drying later to my mom. My mom soon realized I was allergic to cheap metals. Ever since it has truly been a chore to hunt for ear rings I could ware. Not to mention the extra cost they typically are.
Sadly I was one of the 37 percent of all women who have cheap metal allergies.
I wore these for seven days only to discover these truly work. I am very pleased at the quality of these earrings. I am so happy to of found a company that truly provides a solution to metal allergy sufferers. I have tried other types I have seen here of there. But they were not even close to the quality of these Studex. At their online shop in Amazon you can see the simple beauty of variety they offer.
At their website they even offer great reasons to start your own ear piercing business and all the supplies you will need, which was super interesting. You know I love small business and it is yet another great way to create local commerce. Go to Studex.com to see the video.
1 in 3 women suffer from metal allergies and will have discomfort wearing cheap store earrings. Studex is truly the right choice for me after all these years. They offer earring studs for men, women and children. If you want to pierce your childrens ears I highly recommend you start with Studex as their first pair of studs, why risk giving them discomfort.
I am so happy with these. I have two ear piercing. You can purchase different size studs to create your look you desire. Studex I believe would make a great gift as well! With that said why not enter their contest from a company I now trust that has been in business since 1976.

Will America be great again? I ask myself this often as I watch our nation spiral downward. But what changed my despair was the day I went to a Trump Rally. I felt such energy in the room from the people it was inexpiable. I attended the event earlier this year but did not write about it. I sat on sharing my views but now that I have rebranded my site and it is called Suzie's View why not. It is my view. This is still America and I have a voice. I was so encouraged as I saw hundreds lined up trying to get into the Amphitheater to hear Trump here in Raleigh, N.C. We stood in the cold waiting for a long time but I saw all sorts of good people who are fed up with the way things are in this nation. And to see us all coming together to huddle in the cold for hours to get into a building to hear what Trump had to say just did something to me. It revived me and the American spirit.
As we now sit months later on the edge of the election trail, waiting to see who will be our next President, I pray. I pray for a better America. I pray and hope for a better unity. I pray and believe for at least one last great revival. Before this years election I was becoming so disenchanted with America and the political corruption. Our government has become a monster, point blank. I do not want it continuing to get out of control. With it in bed with big pharma, baiting race wars that was not real, dabbling in foreign politics sticking it's nose where it does not belong, telling us how to raise our kids and educate them, not taking care of the vets who risked their lives for our safety and the safety of others. The list of sins goes on and on. It sickens me. But I see a movement opposite of what corrupt media reports.
I see a movement of people sick of it all, coming together to support each other and make a change. I see passionate people like Diamond and Silk who have such a fire for all people and equality for all. They are making their voice heard. Everyone's voice matters in this nation. I see Trump who is a successful man who wants to change what is broken in this nation for the PEOPLE and by the people! I have long admired Trump ever since I was a child. I do not like his past mistakes but we all have a past. We all make mistakes. But one thing Trump has done is persevered. He knows how to deal and knows America has been dealt a bad hand by it's leaders. Trump is smart. He is not a puppet. He can lead us back to prosperity and safety with God's help. Hillary is not what will be good for this country. She is part of the problem, People listen, years before Benghazi she has murdered. People I encourage you to dig and read on her. Really dig and get information. I have. Do you really want someone like that running our country? Stop being a sheeple and flowing the crowd. It is time for real change. We don't need any more puppets for people like George Soros & the elite.
As I have watched our media lie about Mr. Trump I have been seeking other news sources like Right Side Broadcasting on Youtube who will show the rallies live and show what main stream media will not show. They show the huge supporter turn outs for Trump that the Hillary camp media fails to show in their pictures or camera shots. I have seen it with my own eyes. It is totally disgusting the Hillary campers at our rally's disrupting Trump so rudely as he tries to speak. But you never find a Trump supporter at Hillary's dinky rallies making a fuss being rude. I saw one to many people make a scene and have to be escorted out. Let's not lay down and be doormats any longer!
Listen to this historic speech at Gettysburg, P.A. today. Be inspired. America can be great again if we the people stand up again! Make your voice heard! Stand up for what is right. Let's make America great again.
Productivity. Time management. Balance. Have you ever struggled with these things? Peace in a busy life? I know I have. The struggle is real. I want to share with you a journey I am on right now and for those struggling as well I invite you to join me.
I at times for various reasons need to tweek my evenings and mornings. How I spend my evening can in fact affect the start of my next day. How I start my mornings can indeed affect the rest of my day. I have a lot going on these days to do and keep up with. I highly admire Crystal at MoneySavingMom and when I saw she has a course to help fine tune my evening I was super excited to hear what she had to say.
I am first doing the 14 day Make Over Your Evenings course because before you have a morning you must have a night right! So far I am on day 5 and simply loving it so far. No matter where you are as a stay at home mom or a working woman her tips are valuable. It will help you completely tweek & repair an off balance evening and morning. The steps I have taken so far via the course have already greatly improved my evenings I am so excited to see the rest of the fruit as I learn and apply this course information.
Rather than me give you tips myself when I myself have a broken system, I think as a blogger part of our job is when you do not know all the answers you find those who do know. Well Crystal has this down pat.
Her call to actions are practical. Not so far fetched that no one but a imaginary super mom could attain it. Everyone can achieve these practical course challenges. These courses are so flexible. You can log in and download the work book to your tablet or print the workbooks. If your really in a hurry just watching her short informational videos will really open your eyes. I like doing the workbook and watching the videos together.
Healthy time management does not have to be scary or a thing that we only dream of. Breaking old habits and making new healthier ones are attainable. What I am liking best about this course is she breaks down the steps in to bite size daily 15 minute chunks. It is not to much information to do all at once. Matter of fact I have actually taken two days for some of the new habit projects to really stew over it and get it. The course you work at your own pace. You want change to be more productive in a good way not an over worked stressed way. You don't want just great information you learn then never act upon it saying to your self I know I should I know I should but don't! If you really do it and act on the daily small activities you can master a more productive, organized life. You can achieve better time management. Really how you end your day and how you start it will affect the in between. So join me on this journey! Let me know how your doing with your evenings & mornings below.
I just recently read Crystal Paine's newest book Money Making Mom. Personally any book I read that talks about success stories, how to get there and what it took inspires me. In this book Crystal clearly shares the do's & don't in a peep talk & let's get real manner that will stick with you in days to come. If you are looking to start a business of your own and be your own boss this is the eye opener & realistic motivator you need.
I read this book not from the perspective of wanting an at home business because I actually already have two. But I did read it with an open mind to see if she would share tips that I would also share with someone who wants to start a business and make money with little to no start up. Or if she shared anything new to me. I am always open to learn. Crystal spoke my heart as a mom business women. No matter your lack of training or skills you may think you do not have..you can learn skills. You can create money with not even a degree but with plain & simple hard work according to Crystal. It is so true because I too am doing it in my business ventures. Her success inspires me to keep going to make it where she is. This book truly spoke my heart in the simple truths she shared. I do not want to give them all away here you will have to read the book for yourself if you are ready to make a change and be your own boss! If you have tried businesses & failed your in luck. You can take that to build your path to success so do not give up yet. Crystal shares her brutal failures but shares how the lessons she learned actually got her to her successful business now at MoneyMakingMom.com. I love the way she values her mistakes and sees how they where important to the building ones path to success.
I couldn't put this book down. It truly went every where with me until I read it all. I so enjoyed it. It re-motivated me in my businesses I already have going and opened my mind to even more ideas for more business ventures. It inspired me to keep going. I have to quote my favorite line she said on page 64 " Do what you can, when you can, where you are". That is also how I view it all. Take it one step at a time. Do your thing and do what you can as you can, and build from there in your business. It does not and will not be perfect from the get go. It is truly important to make good goals but do not set unrealistic ones & get discouraged. So if you are wanting a business or in the middle of one, this book is a good investment of time and may give you some new perspectives.

You know I love to work from home. I also love to share what legit, flexible work you ladies ( & Dads) can do at home. I am not getting paid to tell you this but want to share my findings. I was sent recently a products sampler to review in exchange of my honest thoughts on Kaeser & Blair's products. Also I did some digging about the company and why it would make a great work from home job. First, your probably wondering what is Kaeser & Blair Incorporated. "Kaeser & Blair is a family-owned company in Cincinnati with national reach. They have been in business for 100 years! They're a highly respected distributor for promotional advertising products - featuring thousands of items - virtually anything you can print a logo or message on, they have it."
Just some samples of what they can print a logo on are below.
These products are in fact of high quality and not cheap junk! I love it all. I have already been putting my Kaeser & Blair swag to great use. For example the coffee mug is amazing. It is thicker & stronger than any mug I own. The tote is a light weight but a very sturdy made bag that will match anything I own. Another fine example is the business card holder. It is solid, let me tell ya! When I open it my cards slide out like in a drawer & are easy to grab. The case is sturdy and will never allow my cards to get bent! So Kaeser & Blair prints logos on items that are of fantastic value!
Now on to the work from home side of Kaeser & Blair. "This is a business opportunity model, except no parties or quotas and instead of selling to friends/neighbors & growing from there, K&B dealers sell to businesses in their community, schools, civic organizations, event organizers, nonprofit groups,Churches, sports leagues for example - the list of potential customers are virtually endless, so is your potential to earn."
Here are some examples for places to sell to.
There is no inventory that needs to be bought or kept! They pay you fast normally within 24 hours of a sell. This business is a great idea ladies. You can start by sharing this with your child's school even! If you want to order a FREE K&B package that will let you look over their catalog & paper work & tell you more details... click below.

The 14 Steps of Success
By Burt T. & Ryan (aka my husband)
1. Always take notes.
Don’t try to remember things – because you won’t. So keep pens and notepads handy…near phones, in the car, by the bedside, etc.
2. Find a mentor / Be a mentor.
Hang around the right people and listen to them. Find people who will guide you in social, moral and political aspects of life and give that to your understudy as you mentor them. How many people’s lives because they hung out with Jesus? They took his advice. Paul in the Bible is a wonderful example of this principle.
3. Be honest.
There are lots of prisons filled with business CEO’s who are there because of their honesty. Honesty is in what you say and how you act…people are watching! (Be careful though…if your wife asks you “Do I look fat in this dress?” You might want to rethink your answer.)
Proverbs 11:1 - The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him
4 Always keep a great attitude.
It’s the single most observed thing about you. Six months after you have gone through a crisis, people don’t remember the crisis, but they do remember how you reacted to the crisis. Paul again in the Bible was a great example as we read in Acts…
Acts 16:25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! 27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted to him, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
5. Get up earlier than your friends and your competition.
Simple rule…The one who gets up first has just projected his chances of winning by 80%. The Bible is filled with people who “woke early” and accomplished great things.
6. Learn to say yes, Learn to say no.
It’s OK to say no. “No. I’d love to help you out but I’ve got something else I need to do that would keep me from doing that. Hope you can find someone to do that – real soon.”
7. Identify and develop areas where you need to improve
It’s OK to say you are not good at something. Sharpen those skills in which you lacking for example computer skills, saying a kind word instead of a criticizing word, etc.
8. Nourish yourself.
Ø Eat breakfast within 90 minutes of getting up. Always eat lunch. The body needs fuel.
Ø Read every day.
Ø Never underestimate the value of repeating the same things over a long period of time.
Ø Be a good listener
Ø Take time in the beginning of every day to pray
Ø Take time at the end of every day to pray – be grateful
9. Learn to manage your time.
Set goals – know where you want to go. Define your purpose in life. How can you achieve your goals if you have not set them? Learn to avoid distractions – don’t major in minor affairs. If you are familiar with the Parable of the sower and the seed, then be a seed sower not a bird chaser. Have an action plan. Have a to do list everyday.
10. Give away the credit and take all the blame.
This is what leaders do. Followers don’t do this.
11. Insist on self-accountability
Always own up to your mistakes. You can give a reason for why it happened, (i.e. Late for work due to a sick child) but in the final analysis, it is your mistake, your responsibility and therefore your duty to correct it. Paying attention to this will force you to maintain better control and make better decisions. IN THE SHORT RUN, It is usually easier to create an excuse then to insist on self-accountability.
12. Give away anonymously things of value.
Give your time as much as you might give material things…there is probably more value in that anyway
13. Stay in balance
Balance your work time, your play time, your family time and your rest time. If you spend 80 hours a week at work, you will be out of balance and will have negative effects. The same is true in reverse, if you spend 80 hours on the golf course; you probably are not getting very much done at work.
14. Practice good habits
Believe it or not, you are a direct representative of what you practice every day. For example, if you are habitually late for work, then you have been practicing bed habits for a while. And not just one. If you are late for work then you probably set you alarm too late, take a shower too late, get dressed too late, get in the car too late, did not anticipate possible delays and all of this is because you probably stayed up too late watching a movie or playing on the computer. There are a bunch of bad habits that are making you late.
