Why is it some of the most depressed people in the world are Christians? David Murray takes a very in depth look at some of the reasons why this is so. Christians should be the happiest people in the world not the saddest! David shows us how that is possible in a world full of doom , gloom & guilt. I will share with you highlights of the book in my own commentary. I will share chapter by chapter.
1. Happy Facts
Facts > Feelings = Positive
An example David uses of this equation is imagine your sitting in a traffic jam late for a meeting. A car has broken down ahead causing the jam possibly. Your really upset. The fact is your stuck in a traffic jam but there is nothing you can change about that fact. But what you can change is how your looking at it. You could use that time to fellowship with God. You could pray. You could use that time to go over with God what you need to remember for your meeting. It may be the extra time you needed to relax! Think positive instead of negative when the facts are what they are. You can't change them but you can change your perspective. Thank the Lord it may of saved you from an unforeseen wreck you could of been in down the road.
2. Happy Media
Good News > Bad News = Positive
This chapter 2 dove deep into all the negative media we have all around us and why people are drawn to it. People tend to focus more on the negative than the positive. It is good to know what is going on in the world but a great way to ward off feeling so down is to focus on all the good going on around us. Do not spend to much time listening to negative news. Seek out the good news! Remember all the good things Jesus has done for us too! When focusing on GOOD thoughts it is hard to get down. It will help to reduce stress too.
Done > Do = Positive
Guilt. That is a big ugly word. Guilt ways us down even a lot of Christians. Have you ever did a good deed out of guilt for God? I know I have A LOT in the past. Why because even thought I knew he saved me by his blood I do not at times feel good enough to deserve his gift of grace. So a lot of us get caught up in doing for God out of guilt instead of out of pure love for him and gratitude. Somewhere in the back of our minds we do stuff to try and earn his love. But we forget it was all finished on the cross. It is done. There is NOTHING we can do to earn his love. There is nothing we can do further to earn a way into heaven other than believe in Jesus Christ's redeeming blood for ourselves and receive it! We need do nothing more. It is done. We should simply DO for God out of love never out of guilt to earn a way into his heart. It is finished. It is all DONE all the work that needs to be done! His grace is GRACE. David points out at the end of each day say out loud it is done. There is nothing more I can do no matter what you did that day because we all fall sort!
Christ > Christians+ Positive
David dives deep into the subject of hypocrisy in this chapter. We all fall short. Why is it we tend to always look at the failures first of others rather than focus more on their successes and praise the Lord for it? If you see a broken Christian there is still remnants somewhere in them of Christs reconstructing work if Jesus lives in them. Find the good in people. We are to build each other up not tear each other down. Remember it is DONE Christ did it all. Focus more on Christ than others falling short!
5. Happy Future
Future > Past = Positive
I will talk about the word guilt again. This chapter was so good for me. It examines the heart. Something that brings a lot of people down is the past. Yes we have all made mistakes in the past. We should remember the lessons we learned from them but we are not to dwell in the past. We are to look to the future. We should remember the good things of the past more if we think of the past at all. We should remember all the good things God has done for you. Remember all the good things he did in the Bible the amazing miracles & signs too! Think on good things but think more future minded. We all made in his image. We are all a work in progress heading to better not broken! Think of a great future & a great now do not hang out in a depressing past that will weight your heart down if you have a broken past. Remember it is DONE. What you will be in far more important that what you where!
6. Happy World
Everywhere Grace > Everywhere Sin = Positive
Ok we all know sin is all around us. We are sinners to and of course make mistakes. But this world could be a lot worst than it is. Gods common grace is everywhere! There is bad happening, yes. But God's goodness is happening MORE we just mostly do not look for it. Even unsaved people do good at times and show some kindness at some point. ALL good comes from God. All people are made in HIS image. There is some common grace ( which is different from his salvation grace) that exists in the world all around us. See Satan is the author of pain & TOTAL misery. In Satan's kingdom below there is no rest, no fun, no relaxing, no laughter, no beauty,no kindness & the list goes on. So when your out and about in the world look for even the smallest of good things! You will begin to see all the good big & small in all people.
7. Happy Praise
Praise > Criticism = Positive
Studies have shown ( the book will go more in depth on this) that people get more successful changes from people with praise more then with criticism. The math should weigh more praise from someone than pointing out their weakness. Let the Holy Spirit do his job of changing hearts meanwhile build people up including yourself and stop tearing down!
8. Happy Giving
Giving > Getting = Positive
I loved this chapter as it really dives deep into the subject of giving. It is so true that is truly more blessed to give than to receive! Studies have even been done on people's happiness on who is happier those giving in the test or getting. The ones giving came out the long term happiest! Go figure :-)
Work > Play = Positive
Did you know God loves work? He worked & works daily! He created which takes work. There should be a work life balance. A time for all of us to work & a time for rest. Play time does not come before work. If you have a proper work life balance it will be a positive experience. Most of us are not in a minister or missionary position. Yet we are all in a holy calling. Your work is your calling. If your a teacher be the best teacher unto the Lord. If your a stay at home mom be the best you can be unto the Lord. No matter your job & we all have one of some sorts even if it is to wash dishes , Wash dishes for the Lord! Take pleasure in your work. But if you say all I am is a dish washer. Remember most of Jesus life he was a carpenter. He Jesus I am sure gave God pleasure in his work.
10. Happy Differences
Diversity > Uniformity = Positive
We will experience a sample of God's kingdom in the future if you lay down any prejudices now. Prejudice can be in many forms. Classes, jobs, color, regions, religions you name it. Open your heart to not be prejudice on any level to experience & learn more joy in God's kingdom here on earth in his body NOW!
In conclusion I could not go anywhere without bringing this book with me while I was reading it. At first I thought I would be bored with it but o how I was wrong. This book captivated me, boosted me to the next level in my walk with Abba God that I was not expecting. It goes deep into a lot of issues we may not even realize or push aside. It shines such a beautiful light into the dark & equips us Biblically to walk in the joy we should have as Christians who should be the happiest people on earth!
I was so happy to review the book Messy Beautiful Love by Darlene Schacht. This book is all about hope and redemption for real life marriages. In this book Darlene is extremely transparent about the grace that was shown in her marriage at a difficult cross roads. It was then that I realized how much I would truly relate to the sharing in this book, it hit close to home. I love the real life sharing from Darlene's heart. Marriage is truly not easy. I will say some marriages may be much harder than others. Mine has not been so easy in years past for many reasons but after reading her story I do not feel alone. I found renewed hope and know we are now on the right track to discovering Gods best in this relationship. No person is perfect. Grace is the key to making a union last not butterflies in your tummy. Married life is simply not easy but when you surrender your relationship to god you let go of control over it and give it to God for his guidance. Will be blessed for it because of your obedience. Darlene beautifully gave advice as if from a best friend in real understandable tangible ways. This book will remain in my permanent collection that I will refer back to for encouragement again & again. When in the mist of a relationship & those some times messy times do come this book will enlighten you with Godly lady like wisdom to embrace the messy and coat it with grace, love & a servants heart to obey God. When you obey God's plan for relationships you will be blessed. Thank you Darlene.

Ok I am here to share with you some truth today. I was watching Joyce Meyer on Youtube. Do I faithfully follow her? No, I only follow Jesus mighty Yeshua himself. But this particular day I felt led to listen to one of her conferences from years ago. I do not always agree with Joyce but today I did. All checked true in my spirit! I took notes. I wanted to share my notes with you today in hopes to encourage you. I added some of my own commentary. I feel this is a great perspective for us women to start 2015!
Joyce said " Confidence is being confident in what you can do & not worry about what you can't"
Wow this is so true. Because we as women should focus on what we can do and trust God for the rest. If he truly has called you to do something whatever that something is He himself will enable you to do it. He will provide. Be faithful in what he has given you.
Here are the 7 Secrets below:
Be blessed dear ones & let's be confident in Christ. Life is to short not to live to be the best you today! Let's wake up & rise up above the blinders Satan puts on us.
Today is my last day as a 30' something. It's emotional. It's been a LONG hard decade yet also blessed! It hit me hard today. My husband laughed & chuckled at me but it really is my last day in my 30's tomorrow at 10:30 am I turn 40! To me it is a big deal. I will be pondering my 30's today and remembering all I have learned. I am truly wiser with Gods help than I was at 30. I have lost almost all my closest loved ones minus my husband & 2 kids in my 30's. I lost my mom,my mother in law,my big brother, uncle, all aunts but one that acknowledge me, all my beloved step grandparents that was all the grandparents I had left and 2 of my own babies. I also lost some very dear friends all of these loved ones died an early death. So much hurt and struggle I even was at divorce foot steps 2 times in my 30's YET I also saw so many blessings too.I made new friends in my 30's. I have had many an adventure in my 30's. I grew in new ways with Abba in my 30's and learned to become more dependent upon him & I learned that NO MAN or person can ever fill my hurts and needs as good as GOD can. I learned in my 30's true obedience to Christ and what that looks like, I fell in love with Yeshua Jesus even more so in my 30's has he truly has walked with me in valley of the shadow of death ( Psalm 23:4). He has also been with me as I found out in my 30's I am Brca2 with a unique mutation within the Braca2 category, and must have surgeries in the new coming year to prolong my life. I got to help in a research study for Braca people in my 30's to pave the way for future people with Braca.
I am so happy in all my failures in my 30's God didn't give up on me and welcomed me home each time. ( I failed a lot) I learned what true mercy was. I now try to give that same to others who wrong me. I have had to survive so many things not mentioned in this writing yet God was with me in it all.
I moved to a city I adore in my 30's and am now proud to call this place home. I have learned many things in my 30's new skills & hobbies. I learned to dance more even in the mist of life's battles I can truly joyfully dance. I love to dance and plan to dance even more. I have learned to let my creativity in dance and other gifted areas flow in what God made me to be!
My son grew up in my 30's and is now a competent bright young man who is going to college & also working a part time job of which in only 4 months he became manager. He truly shines for Jesus in all his does .I am so proud of him! My little baby girl grew up from a small child to a now beautiful high school student in my 30's. As I enter tomorrow my 40's I wish my baby I lost 2 Mays ago was going to be with me yet Asher was his name.
Gods will was done. I enter with 2 almost fully grow lovely people whom I have been proud to be their mom. I enter my 40's with my marriage in tact it has now lasted 10 years something that at the times of divorces foots steps I thought I would never see,, yet God didn't give up on us when we almost did!
As I write this I am crying thinking back on all that has happen in the last decade. All the pain... all the good too & all the memories. I enter my 40's knowing me better & the God that made me. I do not fear of aging because God has blessed me with a youthful look & has been gracious to me. Everywhere I go with my kids people think we are all siblings that has been an encouragement as I age gracefully lol. Tomorrow is just a regular day no major plans are made for my big 40. I will just be living life as always with my sweet little family. I enter my 40's tomorrow kinda of sad to say goodbye to the Suzie of the 30's ( but not sad to say goodbye to all the pain) yet very happy to say hello to the new Suzie of the 40's and can't wait to meet her. Who will she be and what will she become? What has God got in store for me in my 40's? I am excited for whats in store in life. I think I grew up in my 30's finally .I thought I was grown in my 20's but it was not a pretty sight & life was such a struggle. I will think private thoughts and celebrate God & me and our relationship. Tomorrow I will happily dance to a tune and celebrate my life as I set sail for the next decade of my life. ( God willing) After todays pondering and looking back no more looking back only looking at today and to what is and what will be.

This is a prize I won in a contest from Cree. All opinions are my own
I attended a twitter #CreeLEDs party recently via Money Saving Mom. To my surprise I won the grand prize. I was so thrilled. In the picture above you see I got $150 dollars worth of Cree Led's & $100 Dollars to Home Depot. I love to save money on the electric and I love Home Depot so this was amazing. When it arrived I just had to take a picture of the prize box to share with my readers. I was so excited!!!
Now it has been a couple of weeks and slowly room by room we have been switching out the lights. I will show you some of the examples. First we tested it in my son's room (He loves cree! This is a picture he took & shared on Twitter w/Cree recently). I want to show you his floor lamp. He has one of the old 6o watt energy coil bulbs in the lower lamp. In the taller lamp side he has a Cree 60 watt Daylight bulb! This difference is very clear. It is amazing when you walk into his room the lighting & clarity. We needed something better because in all the bed rooms there are NO ceiling lights!
In my room I wanted to have something not so bright beside my bed at night. I wanted a 40 watt soft light. It is perfect for me! Something else I love about Cree is that they last 25 times longer than the traditional energy saving light. Something even more amazing is that Cree is mercury free! Yep you heard that right. SO if you broke one you are not harming your health or the environment you live in.
I love yet again, for example, that the 60w bulb only uses 13.5 watts! I enjoy the true & natural colors series.
I am very grateful to Cree. I am enjoying the bulbs & the gift card! I did not know of this product until now and I am forever changed! I love this company so does my family! This has enhanced our home life to be clearer, better, safer( without mercury) & give us more savings (since it lasts 25 % longer than the regular energy saving light)!
Cree rocks period. I award Cree The Homemaker-Mom Seal of Approval!
Here are is some information taken form the Cree web site to help you better understand why LEDs.
Cree.com / Lighting / Why Cree Lighting / Longevity
You May Never Change Another Bulb
Cree LED Lighting products are designed to last as long as 50,000 hours. Incredible longevity means that you might never change another light again.
A Generation of Light
What is 50,000 hours? It is 50 times the life of a typical incandescent bulb and 5 times the lifetime of an average compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). In fact, if you ran one Cree lamp for 6 hours per day every day, it would last for nearly 23 years. That is five presidential elections, time for a home remodeling, and the expanse of an entire generation.
Reduce Maintenance and Labor
We all have at least one bulb that is hard to reach and needs a ladder or a pole to replace it. For a home owner, fifty times longer life than incandescent bulbs means 50 fewer chances to fall off a ladder. For a business owner, it means significantly lower maintenance and labor expenses.
Reduce Your Waste Stream
The production and use of LEDs requires significantly less energy than incandescents or CFLs. With Cree LED Lighting products, you'll throw away fewer lamps and stop worrying about their mercury content. All Cree LED Lighting products are free of mercury and other toxic materials, a clear win for the environment.

My teenage son is awesome. But I will say my son & daugther pick hard at each other and rub each other raw sometimes, so I thought this was sweet what happened!
I trained him to be a smart with money. He even has started signing up for rewards cards he sees me using. Well he became a Shop Your Way Rewards member. He had some credits saved up like 10 dollars I think. Now if you knew my son you'd know he loves games he could of spent it on games! He called his little sister in his room and asked her what she would like. She wanted some new lip glosses so he spent it at Kmart.com and had it shipped to store. He was happy when it came in and said mom take us to Kmart I gotta pick up Gabbys lip glosses! I thought it was so sweet he spent it on his sister! She was so happy too!

I want to introduce you to my friend Charles the cat. Its a cat that belongs to my neighbors. She is my friend for sure. She comes to visit me a few times a week. She will knock on the door ( paw on the glass really) to let me know she is here and wants a hello. It seems she also knows when I am sad. There has been some hard times in my life the last few years. I have lost my mom , brother, grandmother and mother in law. Each time I was sitting in quiet reflection Charles would appear even if I had not seen her for days. She would rub on my leg and say hello and sit beside me for hours to comfort me. I would hear her talk to me in cat meows as if she was saying it would be ok. I do not have a cat or dog, but because of the love this cat brings me I feel as if I do. When I arrive home from a long trip or even a day out if Charles is out doors she will promptly come running over for a hello. She has layed dead mouses at my porch ( a cats way of saying I love you and thank you). She has chased mean squirrels from my gardens.
She even has invited her self in my home with out me asking. If I open a door to get groceries in, she sometimes sneaks in and snoops around, rubs my leg and when she is done then waits by the door for me to open it and let her go home. I sometimes even slip her a tiny treat.
I love my little neighbor & the company she brings! She is a little ray of sunshine in my day.
Ok ladies, this is my follow up review. Just two days later. I had to share this soon because I couldn't contain my excitement! I received as you know from Infulenster.com a VoxBox to review of Crest 3D White Whitestrips. I seriously didn't know if the product would work as well as it says it would. Crest 3D White Whitestrips claims to remove ten years of set in stains. Well I am starting to truly believe that claim! I am reviewing this product for 20 days. I am on day 7. You apply the strips (one for upper and one for lower) for only 30 minutes a day. I even thought it would be maybe a little burdensome to ware. Boy was I wrong! This product just 7 days into my review is delivering whiting like I have never had before and boosting my confidence and smile! I am a busy mom without extra time or extra money to invest into sitting in an dental office waiting room, waiting to have my teeth whitened. Anything like this I can do at home myself is just great for me, because it saves me time and money. I would say in that aspect I am a true guinea pig tester as a mom all the time, naturally. You moms know exactly what I mean! LOL
At first it took a little getting use to wearing it in my mouth but I quickly got used to it. I love the ease of going about my day doing my homemaking duties while my teeth are whiting, it truly is effortless. It is not painful nor does it taste badly. If you are looking for an super easy, affordable non-annoying way to truly whiten your teeth with out harming them please take a look at Crest 3D White Whitestrips by clicking here at Crest 3D White Whitestrips. I love the extra boost of confidence it has given me now. This is a product I can see myself using for years to come. I truly am getting professional effects. What about you ladies? Do you ever color your hair, get your nails done or get a new hair style to boost self confidence? For the price of that or less you can have a whiter smile!
Remember moms "if your not whiting, your yellowing" I choose to whiten what about you?
Thanks Influenster for my Crest 3d White Whitestrips box to review. Its been a pleasure to give my honest feed back on this amazing product and I am excited about the remaining days of my review for the 20 day whiting!
