Alex had a long journey to get to our house but he is finally here! We are so excited. This is such a special friend! When Grace sent Alex to us she also sent another one to a child in need! How cool is that.
One 2 One | For every toy purchased, another one is given to a child in need.
I was asked by Grace Twilley to review Alex. I do not have younger kids my kids are now teens. But they loved stuff animal friends growing up and my teen girl still does. They played a big part of my growing up as a child & my kids. Children are dear to my heart and such special little people. Our goal in the near future is to open our hearts & home to foster babies & children if all goes well. I can not wait to embrace a child in need and show love & friendship to a hurting heart. That is why Alex is so dear to my heart. He will be by my side to help these kids. Alex has the same mission! When Grace told me the mission of Alex I connected right away for many reasons. One is the fact that when people purchase an Alex toy & book one gets donated to a child in need of comfort. You see in a day in age of so many toys & digital toys as well, more meaningful toys are so very important. A lot of toys are designed to do something taking all the fun of using imagination away. Good old fashion playing is healthy for kids development. Tradition is also important in a world where things can sometimes seem so shaky. Alex is a toy with a story. He is a friend to hug when your scared. Alex is a friend to smile & laugh with riding down the slide. Or to simply know he is there when a child may not feel anyone else understands. He is my friend to snuggle and hold as I await my future kids. Alex can become a tradition in a family too! For example we have a tradition since the kids where very small ( and we still play this game every now & then and I plan on doing it with grand kids someday) We each have a very tiny bear for each member of the family you can fit in your hand. We hide our bears and we all must find each others bears. It is a game of serious hide & seek ( because the bears are so small) that may last off and on for days! We love it. Now Alex will be a tradition in my home also with my foster babies, with my future grand kids and kids I baby sit! Alex is a toy designed to handle being tossed about and brought around on adventures! He is made of high quality for active kids & families. His story book shares his adventures he had BEFORE he got to your house! It is so cute & heart warming. I am just a big kid at heart and love to play with kids. I can't wait to share Alex (and the extra one I was sent!) I have to tell you also.... I lost a baby named Asher last year. I have really been missing him lately but holding this little monkey today has really brought me a new spark of joy for the good things to come. Thank you Grace & Rich
I will be sharing with you all sightings of Alex as we start our adventures on instagram so be sure to follow me there ! Why not start now right on your adventure with Alex in your home? When you do remember another one gets sent to a child in need!
Here is more about the founding of Alex : "Roughy Toys was founded by husband and wife team, Rich & Grace Twilley after an inspiring visit to Brazil. While Rich was finishing his masters, he visited the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil and witnessed children in extreme poverty – children with no toys. When he got home, he was playing with his two year old son Mark and realized that he didn’t need just another toy, he needed a more meaningful toy and Alex was born."
