Ok this book I got free from BookLook. I will start off by saying that at first I was going to take a picture of this book while it was crisp & new for the blog. But I got busy reading it. I never got around to taking the picture to show you until I was done reading. At first I was upset about the book not looking crisp & new for the picture but then it began to come to me that this book was well loved. As you can see by the scratches and worn corners it was used. It's not perfect. Yet it is still beautiful & still useable. Kinda like us! That's really what this whole book was about. The Beauty of Broken is by Elisa Morgan is a real eye opener to a simple truth. Some of you may remember her as the president of MOPS for 20 years. You would think that someone in leadership like that has it all together. But Elisa shines the truth on her not so desirable areas of her life and shows that we all are broken. No matter who you are, your not perfect and chances are you do not come from a perfect family, life, backrgound or marriage! She bares all in this book. But, she shines Jesus to us all through her brokenness to show us that GOD still uses broken people. God loves the broken and God restores daily the broken and makes us beautiful for Him. God uses the broken things & people of the world all the time to bring himself glory. And, it bring to mind my favorite verse on this topic form
2 Corinthians 12:9 New International Version
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
We are all weak. Yet HE is strong. Allow him today to shine through your weakness for he is strong for YOU!
If you have ever struggled with your borkeness or the world's, I would say read this book!
